There is not very much going on this week., we did not go to our bible studies, in fact we haven’t gone in quite a few weeks, so many abnormal things were happening. We did a deep cleaning on the house and rearranged things. But, I am starting to get restless, which I am trying to be content doing nothing for the time being as it is.
The other day I was on our balcony watching a goat in the yard next to us. The owner of the goat just puts a rope around the goats neck and lets them graze in our subdivision to keep the weeds trimmed. So, this one goat in particular was chilling on a mound of rocks bathing in the sun, he started to get hungry so he got up and started munching on the weeds, the moves a little munches some more. Well he moved himself in a complete circle and around a little twig looking shrub. He got his string wrapped around it. Uh-oh! He tried to walk a little harder but the rope wouldn’t’ budge so he gives up and just goes back to bathing in the sun.
Few minutes later, he’s getting the munchies again. He gets up again and starts gnawing on the weeds, walks a little chews some more. Well he goes in another complete circle the same circle he did early, two times he’s wrapped. He starts tugging a bit on the string, but with little effort so he just gives up.
I was thinking about how this applies too our daily life, how many times do we get ourselves wrapped up in a mess then just relent and limit our lives with a short rope. The most interesting part of my little story is after a few hours I went back and looked to see if the goat had untangled himself. Nope, sure didn’t but, he had managed to tangle his other goat friend by wrapping their ropes together. Hmmm.
Deep, Maggie, deep!
haha…this is a common problem for me with my goats too…always getting their ropes tangled up with each other. man! i’m glad I finally just let them loose in the back field. I think we’re both appreciating their freedom! 🙂
“Goats” just have to bleat..cry-out and their master will come to the rescue….instead of trying to untangle a difficult situation by themselves.
