I have a few interesting thoughts of these feedings:
It is a blessing to be able to bless someone else. Especially when it comes to food. Everyone loves food.
Even if there is enough for everyone to eat, chaos is created near the end because there is fear someone won’t get something, greed to have more, and just to have fun and make people suffer, all these are reasons we experienced the wildness.
An interesting thought that Fronie had was about the name on the bags. Each child, whether they came to our club or not had an eager-fearful look on their face when we were passing out the sandwiches with the names, hoping and expecting their name will be called. When it was called there was an assurance and relief that passed on their face. When a kids name was never called, they would come up to us as ask why their name wasn’t on a bag. Our answer was come to the club this Thursday then they can be put on the attendance list. Something interesting is that last Friday at kids club Fron was going to tell about salvation and what it is to be saved. But, Thursday was raining so bad we weren’t able to go. So this Friday there will be a great turn out because kids want to be put on the attendance list and we will tell about salvation like we were going to do this past Thursday! What a great opportunity! And great timing.
A little update on the flooding in Manila: It is a slow relief process but there is a lot of government aide. There are many YWAM bases all around the Philippines, ours will not be one to bring help and aide. There is another typhoon that is supposed to come this weekend but it’s not supposed to hit Manila, more of northern Luzon.
We set up our Christmas tree September 30! The Philippines likes Christmas time a lot a lot!

I felt so sad for the kids when you wrote how they anticipated hearing their name being called and not understanding when it wasn’t.
No one likes to be excluded, felt left out or not recognized. It’s a fear of being ignored, not feeling significant, nor loved I pray that these children’s hearts will be sensitive and open when they hear the gospel message. That they will feel love and their insecurities/voids will be filled by the Holy Spirit.
They are precious.
So what’s up with the Christmas tree in September??!!
I agree with you’re mom. HOW SAD!!!!!!!
Couldn’t ya’ll expect the unexpected?
How about making a few more “bags”?…bring a sharpie with you, so you can write the child’s name when you see a sad face.
We brought extra bags, but it got out of control and the sandwiches got snatched.
